Here’s our round up of some of places you need to be seen sipping.
We adore the legendary crab doughnuts and the Firehouse Frosé they serve up at Chiltern Firehouse, in Marylebone, London.
When visiting you can expect a relaxed, laid-back charm that will take you away from the bustle of the city. The former fire station is like a light that attracts London’s glitterati and the lady who is the resident pianist will often have her pooch in tow.
We recommend pulling up a seat at the bar and soaking up the atmosphere with a glass of fizz.
Tayēr + Elementary is a project by Monica Berg and Alex Kratena – and the pair are leading lights in the bar world.
It mixes the accessibility of all-day coffee, cocktails and premium snacks at Elementary with ground-breaking research, innovation and experimentation at progressive bar Tayēr. It embodies Monica’s wide-ranging passions from combining great food and drinks to shaping a more inclusive, sustainable and professional working culture.
Issho – meaning ‘together’ in Japanese – is a contemporary Japanese rooftop restaurant and bar in Leeds Victoria Gate.
You can tuck into traditional Izakaya dining in the restaurant then head to the Issho Bar and Terrace, which serves up Japanese -inspired cocktails and a full sake list. Whist you’re there lose yourself in the bamboo forest of Arashiyama with a Storm Mountain – a mojito style drink with an eclectic twist.
This magical Edwardian building in the heart of Newcastle has been transformed to a beautiful bar, restaurant and private room.
From light bites at the bar to fantastic drinks curated by a team of some of Newcastle best mixologists and bartenders, this place is buzzing with sipsters.
Signature cocktails include the salted caramel flip, featuring Don Q Añejo, Mozart Gold, caramel, egg and smoked salt or The 56 Fizz, with Hibou Blanc chocolate and orange gin, lemon, lime, cream, egg white, sugar and Champagne. Chin-chin.
Inside the fabulous Intermezzo bar on Pilgrim Street in Newcastle you will find a modern-day speakeasy. Before entering you must knock on a secret door to get inside the cabin of marvellous cocktail creations.
We could not tell you exactly what concoctions we had. Let’s just say it was a fabulous night.
Located inside the Hilton in Deansgate places you in perfect position to enjoy panoramic views of the city. It’s a great spot for a date night or to catch up with friends. Cloud 23 serve a wide range of cocktails and mouth-watering food.
If you’re visiting during the day, the Champagne afternoon tea is a must.
