A great sharing cocktail that will get everyone sipping – created by cocktail consultant Shannon Mustipher who is a founding member of the Cane Club Collective, which fosters knowledge and appreciation for rum through educational seminars for the consumer and trade.
Batavia Arrack van Oosten
Lemorton Pommeau de Normandie
Rothman & Winter Orchard Pear Liqueur
250ml aged Batavia arrack
50ml pear liqueur
125ml ginger syrup
100ml fresh lemon juice
For the garnish:
Combine all ingredients in a non-reactive container and stir to mix. Decant over ice into a Tiki bowl or serving vessel of your choice. Serve with straws and garnish with citrus wheels and edible flowers.
Many Tiki bowls include a minibowl for a flame garnish, safely away from the body of the drink.
Top with a scant amount of 151-proof rum or soak a sugar cube, and carefully ignite before serving. Always blow out the flame before drinking and take all appropriate cautions when working with open flame.
