There are plenty of blueberries in this antioxidant shake which contain antioxidant chemical compounds called anthocyanins – they give blueberries their dark blue colour and also help your body relieve stress, and neutralise free radicals
Makes 2 shakes
70 g fresh or frozen blueberries
500 ml almond milk
2 1/2 tbsp ground flaxseed
1 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp goji berries
2 tbsp chia seeds
Place the blueberries, almond milk, flaxseed, and maple syrup in a food processor or high-speed blender and process until smooth.
Divide between two glasses and top with the goji berries and chia seeds. Place in the fridge for 5 minutes for the chia to swell before serving
TIP: If you have a source for wild blueberries in the summer, buy or pick extra and freeze them for the winter months. Blueberries maintain their essential nutrients even when frozen.
