Lift your spirits this weekend with these seriously good cocktails. Warm up with an Appletini on Friday, revel in a Rum Punch on Saturday and why not enjoy a Bloody Mary on Sunday?
Appletini
Ingredients
50ml vodka (we used Durham Vodka)
50ml cloudy apple juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon maple syrup
Apple slice to garnish
Method
Shake all of the ingredients in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Strain into a Martini glass. Garnish with an apple slice.
Rum Punch
Ingredients
175ml of orange juice
75ml of freshly squeezed lime juice
150ml of rum (we use Holy Island Spiced Rum)
50ml of sugar syrup
Dash of grenadine
Dash of Angostura bitters
Ice cubes
Slices of orange to garnish
Slices of pineapple to garnish
Pour the juices, rum, sugar syrup, grenadine and Angostura bitters into a large jug and give it a good stir. Add plenty of ice and garnish with slices of orange and pineapple.
Bloody Mary (or Red Snapper)
Ingredients
50ml vodka (we use Durham Vodka. Or replace the vodka with gin to make a Red Snapper.)
250ml of tomato juice
1 tablespoon of lemon juice, plus 2 wedges to garnish
Few drops of Worcestershire sauce
Few drops of Tabasco sauce (add more for a spicier drink)
Pinch of salt
Pinch of black pepper
Celery sticks to garnish
Cherry tomato to garnish
