Lavish, luxurious and a place that guarantees great memories, Grantley Hall offers the ultimate stay, spa and dining experiences.
The hotel in Ripon, North Yorkshire, opened its doors after a multi-million-pound revamp in 2019 by businesswoman Valeria Sykes – who fell in love with the 17th-century Palladian pile.
Now part of Relais & Châteaux, an elite status which sits independent hotels on the pedestal they belong for their commitment to exceptional guest services, Grantley Hall is five-star in every way.
“We stand for excellence, for experience, for food and for some North Yorkshire charm, said general manager Andrew McPherson.
Located on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, only 4 miles from Ripon and 10 miles from Harrogate, Grantley Hall is decadence at its finest and is a foodie destination in its own right – with plenty to please the palate.

Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall

Having opened in July 2019 to critical acclaim, the restaurant has gone from strength to strength – and gained a Michelin star earlier this year. Housed in a Grade II* listed Palladian mansion in Ripon, Yorkshire, it is synonymous with its environment and the bounties of Yorkshire produce.
Shaun’s menus centre around locally grown and sourced ingredients including those from the hotel’s very own Kitchen Garden, and raw ingredients sourced within a 30-mile radius. Shaun’s signature tasting menu, A Taste of Home, takes inspiration from his formative years growing up in Yorkshire.
“Sustainability and highlighting the incredible produce and suppliers around Yorkshire are of huge importance to me, which is why we try to source all ingredients from within a 30-mile radius and never from outside of the UK,” said Shaun.
