Screaming Chimp Chilli Sauces offer award-winning chilli sauces that are Vegan friendly and delicious added into soups, sauces and gravies, or just enjoyed as a pour on or dipping sauce.
The business is run by couple Niall and Vic from County Durham who grow a variety of chillies.
“Every one of our sauces features our own home-grown chillies but we also use chilli growers from around the UK, too.
“Our sauces feature different heat levels,” says Niall, who was inspired to launch the business after a friend bought him a tray of chilli seedlings.
“Vic’s Ol’ Smokey is for chilli wimps,” says Niall. “It’s named after Vicky as she’s not a lover of heat herself.” It features birdseye chilli, smoked paprika, garam masala, caraway and tomato and onion.”
In comparison, Screamer features habaneros, nagas, Trinidad Moruga Scorpion and Carolina Reaper chillies in it. “It definitely packs a mighty punch,” says Niall.
“There are so many different flavours of chillies but I want flavour over fire,” he adds. “Chillies have three dimensions: flavour, texture and heat. Take the lemon drop chilli we use in our Pineapple and Mango and Papaya sauces, it’s tangy and fruity. Although Screamer contains the hottest chillies in the world, you still get flavour over fire.”
Niall and Vic say their sauces can be used in anything from bolognese to stir-fry.
“You can add it into a mayonnaise to make a Chimponaise dip. It’s great in chicken wraps, with salmon, in your scrambled eggs or even with a cheese board – especially the pineapple as it features apple cider vinegar.”
