North East chefs are set to cook up a storm at the region’s largest music festival.
Three of the North East’s top chefs will be serving up a tasty experience at the region’s biggest live music festival this summer.
Terry Laybourne, Marcus Bennett and Chris Finnigan will each be cooking up a storm as part of the packed programme at Hardwick Live on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 August.
Held at Hardwick Hall Hotel in Sedgefield, County Durham, the event will welcome Indie favourites Kaiser Chiefs at Saturday’s show following a star-studded line up including Vintage Trouble, Ash, and Jake Shears. And on Sunday, the legendary Happy Mondays will lead a packed programme including Shed Seven, Feeder, Echo & the Bunnymen and Melanie C.
The three chefs will take their turn at preparing a three-course meal at the Celeb Chef Experience, which will then be
served to guests.
On Saturday lunchtime, Marcus Bennett of Cena Trattoria in Yarm and The Bay Horse in Hurworth, near Darlington, will create a three-course Italian feast. He will return later in the day to create an exclusive dinner, with three signature dishes from The Bay Horse.
On Sunday, a three-course lunch will be cooked and demonstrated by Chris Finnigan, who will be taking up the role of head chef at The Impeccable Pig which is due to open in Sedgefield later this summer.
And Terry Laybourne, the man behind Newcastle’s successful 21 Hospitality Group, will become the final chef to take part as he prepares some of his award-winning dishes for dinner.
Admission to all four dining experiences will be by advance ticket only.
“Every year Hardwick Live grows bigger and bigger,” says John Adamson, managing director of Ramside Estates, which runs Hardwick Live. “We like to introduce new things to keep our event fresh and exciting. This year, we’ve called upon some of the finest chefs the North East of England has to offer. We’ve designed these dining experiences as something a little bit different and extra for those who enjoy a sit-down dinner in style.”
Along with the Celeb Chef Experience marquee, there will be food and drink stalls at the event featuring a variety of cuisines including Chinese, Thai, Mexican, Caribbean, Indian, burgers, falafels, fish and chips and a hog roast, along with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.
The Celeb Chef Experience events will be held at 1.30pm each day and cost £30 each, while the evening demonstrations will be at 5.30pm, and cost £35 per person, both include a glass of Taittinger Champagne.
Admission to all four dining experiences will be by advance ticket only. For tickets and further information, visit hardwicklive.co.uk
