Whether it’s a satisfying savoury you’re after or a sweet treat, Low Fell Food Market has something for you. And better still it’s all locally sourced.
Food lovers should prepare to be wowed by delicious new food producers and street food stalls including gourmet grilled cheese, Caribbean BBQ, craft beers, loaded fries & artisan cheesecake plus all of last year’s favourites. Choose from hand-baked bread, local cheese, organic fruit and veg, ales and spirits, cakes and patisserie, specialist meat and game, free-range eggs, sauces and preserves, free-from bakery, freshly brewed coffee and local honey.
Once you’ve had your fill of the North East’s best food offerings, sit back and relax with an ice-cold drink at the new Bikeshed Bar. Mix in a pinch of live music, some activities for the kids (and occasionally the adults too!) and you have the perfect start to your Saturday.
“We decided to rename the market to reinforce the connection with the place the market is held. Low Fell is a well known and well loved area and we wanted to make it easier for new visitors to make an immediate association with the event and its fantastic location”
Liz – Third Space Events LLP
“We’ve had loads of feedback from visitors asking whether we’ll be including homeware and craft stalls at the markets so we’ve decided to have a non-food section this year. We’re still primarily about food and drink but we feel there’s definitely space to showcase some of the fantastic locally produced goods the region has to offer” Sally – Third Space Events LLP
The Low Fell Food Market takes place on the 1st Saturday of each month right through to December. The market is held outdoors in the Kells Lane school yard, gates open 11am – 3pm and entry costs just 50p, free for under 14’s. The central location means the market is really easy to get to; walk, cycle or jump on one of the variety of buses that stop close by or bring your car and park just 1 minute walk away at NE9 5JB. Organisers ask that motorists kindly avoid parking in any nearby streets in order to keep these spaces clear for residents.
