Q&A WITH ADAM HILL
He’s shaking up the hospitality industry with his creative concepts and wants to create a design movement within the hospitality sector. We chat to Adam Hill of Creativehill about a few of his favourite things.
Favourite restaurant… I’m really lucky to have a two Michelin-star restaurant, The Raby Hunt, and one Michelin-star restaurant, House of Tides, quite local to me. I love them both and I’m really looking forward to seeing what Danny Parker can deliver at Jesmond Dene House.
Favourite hotel abroad… Karisma Hotel and Resorts raise the bar for me. It’s the attention to detail that makes the difference, the staff r ake the beach every morning so it has perfect lines running down to the sea. When the y didn’t serve a particular brand of drink, the staff went out and stocked our bar with it. It’s this kind of attention which sets brands apart.
Favourite hotel in the North East… I can’t possibly tell you! I get the chance to stay in some amazing hotels by the very nature of what we do, most of them are customers. I have however been quite recently to Le Petit Chateau and was very impressed.
What’s your dream lifestyle in three words… Formula One driver (the lifestyle comes with it).
Your favourite food… I eat literally anything, but I steer towards Thai food and sushi as an everyday favourite.
Last meal on earth… Wow! Difficult question. It would have to be a perfectly cooked steak. As boring as it sounds, you can’t beat the combination of red meat and potatoes!
The ultimate brand to work with… For me, it would be someone like Jamie Oliver. There are so many facets to the business model including restaurants, TV shows, publications and cookware. We have so much to give in that sector, digitally speaking, and working with a brand of that stature would be amazing.
