Laneberg Wine Vouchers & Gift Sets
Laneberg Wine is an urban winery in Gateshead which produces a delicious range of award-winning English red, white and rose wines
Newcastle-born Elise Lane set up Laneberg Wine in Gateshead’s Team Valley after returning to her native North East roots. Elise launched the business after a successful corporate finance career, with the aim of changing people’s perceptions of English wines.
Her white, red and rose releases have all won international awards at both the Wine GB Awards and the International Wine and Spirits competition.
The business selects the highest quality grapes from the Midlands and Southern England vineyards and has a non-interventionist approach, meaning after the team de-stem, crush and press the grapes, they intervene as little as possible in order to let the grapes express themselves and their natural flavours.
Instead of piling in sugar, additives and preservatives, the wines are left as natural as possible – the end result delivering high-quality, uniquely-tasting drinks.

Maximilian 2019, Red Wine
Maximilian 2019, named after Elise’s eldest son, is made with 100% Regent grape variety, a Germanic grape that grows well in the English climate.
It’s a lovely fruity, fresh and light-bodied English red wine. Maximilian 2019 has rich flavours of sour cherries and a smoky finish due to the French Oak ageing.
This wine has a light harmless sediment as it is unfiltered, therefore it is recommended that it is decanted before serving.
Bacchus 2020, White Wine
The Bacchus is a dry, still white wine that is bursting with herbaceous aromas and citrus and green apple flavours.
It has complex fruity notes and a lovely zesty length. Bronze medal winner at Wine GB Awards 2021.
The Bacchus was picked out by Fortnum & Mason’s expert wine team after a blind tasting of 40 different bottles and is being marketed by the historic high-end retailer as its new signature English wine.
Pinot Noir 2020 is a pale red wine with red fruit aromas and flavours such as wild strawberry, raspberry, and redcurrant. With subtle smoky spice from the five months in French oak barrels, this wine pairs beautifully with lamb rack or confit duck. This wine is still quite young, so it is best if you decant it – about 1 hour before you intend to drink – in order to release the flavour and allow it to soften.
This red wine is a deep ruby colour and has a medium body with aromas and flavours of blackberries and plums, with a light spice from five months in French oak. Pairs like a dream with red meat dishes and stews – perfect for the upcoming colder months. This wine is still quite young, so it is probably best if you decant it – about 1 hour before you intend to drink – in order to release the flavour and allow it to soften. Decanting is also encouraged as harmless sediment may form as the wine ages, this is perfectly normal and is a result of the minimal intervention during wine making.
