Owner Glenn Pearson has always had an ambition to create something truly special and with a new team of celebrated chefs – including Craig Sherrington who featured on Great British Menu – The Seaview offers unique dishes created from the freshest seafood landed from the surrounding waters each day.
The talented team prepare original and delicious seafood plates cooked to order – including the famous Crab Brioche eaten by Fred Sirieix and Nadiya Hussain when the restaurant featured on BBC’s Remarkable Places To Eat. Executive Chef Craig Sherrington, Head Chef Craig Morton and the team truly make the magic happen in the kitchen.
Craig and his team work closely with local fisherman and producers – with many of the ingredients, such as the crab, caught fresh each morning from the shores on our doorstep.
The all-day menu, served from 11.30am to 8.30pm (last orders for food) features everything from crab fritters and BBQ prawns as snacks; crab rarebit, scallops and moules as starters and a range of mains that with tantalise the taste buds. They include lobster thermidor, halibut with caramalised cauliflower; hake kiev with crab and garlic butter as well as our house-hung sirloin. Seaside staples such as fish and chips and Whitby scampi are also available.
As well as the restaurant, there is state-of-the-art fish and chip takeaway.
Location
Saltburn by the Sea has maintained much of its original charm as a Victorian seaside resort including its pier, the colourful Italian Gardens and walks through Riftswood.
Saltburn has the oldest water balanced cliff tramway in Britain that is still in operation, linking the town with the pier 120 feet below. On the lower promenade is The Seaview Restaurant; with unrivalled views if this glorious stretch of coast – which a popular surfing destination.
