Grantley Hall, is set to take centre stage in a new Channel 5 series offering an exclusive look behind the scenes of its journey to becoming one of the world’s leading hospitality destinations.
From Thursday 26 March at 8pm, Yorkshire’s Poshest Hotel: Grantley Hall will air weekly on Channel 5. Documenting the team responsible for delivering the hotel’s signature service, the four-part series will capture the precision, creativity and relentless attention to detail required to operate at the highest level of luxury hospitality.
The first episode introduces mother and son Valeria and Richard Sykes, who purchased the property as a run-down country house in 2015 and transformed it into a luxury hotel during a four-year renovation. Viewers will also meet Interior and Ambience Manager, Marek, as he works on a redesign of one of the hotel’s signature dining venues, The Orchard, and Guest Experience Manager, Thierry, who leads the team as they prepare to welcome a global pop superstar from the US.

The hotel’s General Manager, Nuno César de Sá commented: “This documentary series represents one of the proudest moments in Grantley Hall’s journey so far. It offers a rare and honest insight into the people behind the experience — a team whose infectious warmth, but relentless pursuit of perfection defines everything we do.
“What makes this so special is its authenticity; it captures the hard work, the challenges and the genuine commitment that go into delivering excellence every single day. I couldn’t be prouder of what the team has achieved, and I’m excited for audiences to see the true spirit of Grantley Hall brought to life.”
Located on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, Grantley Hall has become a flagship for contemporary British luxury, blending historic grandeur with modern design.
The hotel’s five restaurants include MICHELIN-starred Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall, Asian-inspired EightyEight, and the Grantley Arms, a newly opened pub in the hotel’s namesake village nearby.
Renowned for its wellbeing offering, the hotel also features an award-winning spa and state-of-the-art gym with facilities including a cryotherapy chamber and underwater treadmill.
