Sir Richard Branson’s Kasbah Tamadot is a Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2021 Winner.
Kasbah Tamadot, part of the Virgin Limited Edition collection of luxury retreats around the world has been named the #1 Best Resort Hotel in North Africa and the Middle East for the fourth year in the prestigious Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2021.
This award is a welcome stamp of recognition for Kasbah Tamadot and the magical Moroccan escape it offers guests.
Nestled in a remote village and marketplace in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, Morocco, Kasbah Tamadot is renowned worldwide for the lengths it goes to in supporting its local community and people. Along with an incredibly unique setting and the stunning facilities of this luxury retreat, the hotel employs 99% of its staff from the local Berber village and created the Eve Branson Foundation to provide opportunities and enhance living standards for young people and women in some of the most impoverished communities in the local area.
The tranquil and secluded hotel has 28 rooms and suites, including the Master Suite and ten authentic Berber Tents. Each room at Kasbah Tamadot is decorated in a unique style with beautiful artefacts from around the world; many of which were collected by the former owner – renowned antiques dealer and interior designer – Luciano Tempo. The luxurious Berber tented suites offer stunning views of the Atlas Mountains, king-size beds, large soaking tubs (some with mountain views) and private terraces with sun loungers and 180-degree mountain views. Some even have private plunge pools. Accessed through the much-loved herb and vegetable garden, the tented suites are perfect for those looking for a little more privacy. Kasbah Tamadot really is the ideal destination for complete relaxation and a hotel that has beauty at the heart of everything it does.
Vincent Padioleau, General Manager of Kasbah Tamadot, said: “We are over the moon to be awarded #1 Best Resort Hotel in North Africa and the Middle East for the third consecutive year and four times in total. Almost our entire team at the hotel is made up of wonderful people from the local villages here in the Atlas Mountains, so we are incredibly passionate about showing the very best of the genuine Moroccan culture, supporting our community, while creating the perfect, luxury hideaway for our guests to create memories that will last them a lifetime.”
“Receiving such acknowledgement is a complete honour and really does speak to the hard work and dedication of every member of the team. We will all be raising a glass of authentic Moroccan mint tea in celebration!”
Also announced as a Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2021 Winner – and huge cause for celebration – is sister property in the Virgin Limited Edition collection – Sir Richard Branson’s Kenya Safari Camp, Mahali Mzuri, which scooped the top spot, ranked as Number One Hotel in the World, as well as the Number One Resort in Africa.
