The 10th English Curry Awards 2021 celebrated national and regional businesses for their contributions to the industry.
The English Curry Awards 2021, held last night in Birmingham, recognised the hard work, determination, impeccable service and efforts of the best English curry establishment and professionals that create and serve delicious dishes at an excellent standard.
The black tie event was hosted by presenter, Tommy Sandhu, and more than 350 people were in attendance.
Several of the awards were split into local regions to ensure that smaller businesses from across England are also recognised.
Irfan Younis, CEO of Oceanic Consulting which organises the awards, said: “We are honoured and delighted to have such great finalists and winners representing the English curry industry and enhancing its reputation nationally and internationally.
“We were very happy to welcome the guests and celebrate with them. Congratulations to all finalists and winners!”
Shah Amin, of My Delhi Indian Streetery, in Newcastle, scoopedStreet Food Restaurant Of The Year.
He said on Facebook: “This is the results of hard work, determination and all the sacrifices that come with it. You don’t count the hours, or the sweat or even think about the aching body at the end of the night. So proud of Team My Delhi. Without them we wouldn’t be here today.”
Razz Ahmed, of Namaste Exclusive Indian Restaurant in South Shields, was also celebrating after the venue was crowned Best Restaurant in the Year North East.
“We’ve done it! Namaste Exclusive Indian Restaurant are the winners for the category Restaurant of the Year English Curry Awards 2021.
“This wouldn’t have been possible without the support from our incredible customers, thank you for all your support! Thank you to all our friends and family and a big thank you to the team at Namaste, our front of house staff, and back staff for making this become a reality,” he wrote on Facebook.
