Lartington Hall in Barnard Castle is hosting another of its famous pop-up restaurant nights on Saturday 18th November. This time, head chef Richard Picard-Edwards has devised a delicious seven-course tasting banquet which has been expertly paired with the most amazing wines and champagnes by renowned champagne house Pol Roger.
Recently appointed head chef at Lartington Hall, Richard Picard-Edwards is from a Michelin-star background, having won or retained stars as head chef at both Lords of the Manor in the Cotswolds and Lucknam Park near Bath. His food is known for amazing flavours and textures, getting the very best out of seasonal, fresh produce and perfect presentation.
Lartington Hall are proud to offer Pol Roger as its champagne of choice, as Pol Roger only choose to supply a handful of venues across the North. Pol Roger was William and Kate’s champagne of choice at their royal wedding and is possibly best known for being Winston Churchill’s favourite tipple. As he famously said: “My tastes are simple, I am easily satisfied with the best.“ Quite.
As well as being experts in matching great wines and champagnes to Richard’s food, during the evening itself, Mr Will Dennison from Pol Roger will give guests anecdotes and insider stories from the famous champagne house together with explanation and wine notes for each pairing.
Details for the seven-course tasting banquet evening can be found here, together with accommodation options – it’s on a first come first served basis as there are only a limited number of rooms available.
