Savour Magazine has been announced as the official media partner at Chester-le-EATS
The food, drink and travel magazine is proud to be the official media partner of Chester-le-EATS, a new event by Durham Cricket which champions food and drink producers from the North East and beyond.
The event, which will be held on October 1st and 2nd at the cricket ground in Chester-le-Street, Durham, will see an array of producers showcase their wares – as well as hot food vans that specialise in cuisine from around the world.
Savour founder and editor, Georga Spottiswood, said: “The ethos of Savour Magazine has always been to celebrate and support independent businesses; from hotels and restaurants to grass-roots producers, so it was a no brainer for us to partner with Durham Cricket.
“Having worked with many of the producers before, it is great to see how they are still thriving after the events scene was wiped out during covid. Many of the businesses, just like us, had to diversify – and it’s fantastic to see them all back with a bang.”
As well as entertainment line-up at the event, visitors can expect a fantastic line-up of trader stalls and hot food vans offering a variety of food and drink.
Scream For Pizza, who were finalists in the British Street Food Awards and who were also published in ‘where to eat pizza’ by Phaidon, will be serving up slices of heaven with their delicious pizzas.
Having started their business during the first covid lockdown, The Seahorse Coffee Box will be providing all things coffee.
Also attending is Greek street food favourite, Phi Pie; street food veterans Spud Gun Loaded Fries; Caribbean faves The calabash Tree; The Geordie Banger Company; Churros Barcelona and DCC Events with their hog roast and Lebanese shawarma vans.
Visitors will also be able to pick up some North East produce from Calder’s Kitchen, which makes home-made traditional piccalilli and a range of chutneys; curry sauces from Spicy Monkey; sweet treats from Bake for the Soul and Le Mini Macaron; and a range of beers and spirits will also be available for purchase from the region’s brewers and distillers. Plus, much more.
Ythan Sale, Durham Cricket Event Manager, said: “Savour Magazine started its roots here in the North East and is the only dedicated food and drink publication for the region and beyond. We are delighted that they are our official media partners.”
Although Durham Cricket will use their own carparks for the event, there will be public car parking in the pay and display car parks opposite Gate 3. The entrance into the event will be at Gate 1.
