The Blackbird Ponteland: A Taste Of History With A Modern Menu

A taste of history and a modern menu are the perfect ingredients at The Blackbird, Ponteland.

As well as serving up an interesting past, it offers a tasty selection of traditional British pub classics, such as slow-roasted belly pork, lamb rump, fish and chips, a range of burgers, and street food options including bao buns and noodle boxes.

This little gem of a venue – built on the exact spot where Henry III of England and Alexander of Scotland signed a peace treaty in the 13^th Century – doffs its cap to years gone by. Originally a castle, then a manor house, it went on to become a pub and many of the original features – such as the Tudor fireplace – can still be seen today at The Blackbird.

Expect character, charm, delicious food, and a good selection of real ales, plus more than 70 different gins.

Mains include pan-roast salmon, Asian beef salad, beer battered North Sea haddock, Moroccan lamb flat bread and a pie of the day.
