Gin lovers, rejoice. Mambo Wine and Dine, in South Shields, has launched a new menu dedicated to the good stuff. It features nine different concoctions including Wrecking Coast Cornish Clotted Cream; Saffron Gin; Victoria’s Rhubarb Gin and Liverpool Valencian Orange Gin.
And co-owner of the business, Leon Kasaei, has cleverly crafted the menu so it comes with perfect Fever-Tree tonic pairings and gin-tastic garnishes.
Hendrick’s Gin
A stalwart of gin, Hendrick’s is infused with rose and cucumber – so should be served with a cucumber garnish.
Saffron Gin
This gin has a delicate but spicy character and features juniper, coriander, lemon, orange peel, angelica seeds, iris, fennel and saffron botanicals. Garnish with juniper berries, fennel and a slice of orange.
Edinburgh Rhubarb & Ginger Liqueur
Warning. This gin liqueur is highly addictive. It’s made with a tangy spring crop of rhubarb macerated with oriental ginger and lemon zest. Garnish with juniper berries, rhubarb and edible flowers (optional).
Ophir Oriental
Awaken your senses with this spiced gin, which has bursts of citrus balanced with the rich, earthy aromas and a soft spice. Add a dash of chilli bitters and coriander seeds.
Liverpool Valencian Orange
This orange scented organic gin is bursting with zesty citrus notes. Garnish with mint and a wedge of orange for a fruity number.
Monkey 47 Sloe
An unusual gin from the Black Forest in Germany, Monkey 47 Sloe gin is a peppery, tangy, complex spirit made by macerating Black Forest sloes in spirit for three months. Garnish with a lemon wedge and blueberries for a game changer of a gin.
Victoria’s Rhubarb Gin
Made using a crop of rhubarb originally grown in the kitchen garden of Buckingham Palace during the reign of Queen Victoria, this rhubarb gin is beautifully sweet and tangy. Pair with mint and an orange wedge.
Wrecking Coast Cornish Clotted Cream
This wonderfully creamy gin delivers a distinct Cornish flavour. Garnish with fresh strawberries and lime.
Edinburgh Raspberry Liqueur
Absolutely bursting with Perthshire raspberries, Edinburgh Raspberry Gin Liqueur is fruity and sweet with added botanical complexity from its base gin, finishing with hints of lavender and pine. botanical complexity from its base gin, finishing with hints of lavender and pine.
