Luxury North East hotel, Wynyard Hall , has welcomed Michael Penaluna as its new executive chef.
He’s worked at prestigious venues across the UK but now Michael Penaluna is bringing his expertise to Wynyard Hall.
The new executive chef, who has more than 20 years’ experience within the hospitality industry, is a keen believer in cooking from the heart – and enjoys prolonging the best tastes of the season with curing, smoking and preserving.
Using his wealth of experience, the finest ingredients and focusing on the fresh seasonal produce grown within The Gardens of Wynyard Hall, Michael hopes to develop Wynyard Hall’s current food offering and create a flavoursome menu that will be enjoyed by many.
Michael said: “Wynyard is such a beautiful place and when I first came here I was blown away with the Hall and the estate around it. I love the history and working for a family who have the same passion about the North East as I do.”
Before joining Wynyard, Michael worked at some of the leading hotels around the North East, including Jesmond Dene House, where he held 3 AA Rosettes for seven years.
