He’s about to launch his debut cookbook, World on a Plate, and is Chef Director of the Stein empire. Meet Jack Stein, Rick’s middle son. He’ll be cooking up a storm in the Cookery Theatre at this year’s Bishop Auckland Food Festival, which takes place from 21st-22nd April.
What is one of your best food memories?
Our first trip to a night market in Bangkok. I was six years old and the smell and noise was incredible. We had whole deep-fried fish and green mango salad. It was pretty intense.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
The Landes region of France, around Hossegor. The food is great, the surf is amazing and the mountains aren’t far away. Plus, San Sebastian is close by.
